The loss of a loved one is one of the toughest times of your life. How do you stop from spiraling into a deep depression? You need to keep taking action.
Taking action creates momentum. Doing other work or activities helps to distract you and raise your energy. Others will need you at this time. You will also need to take care of required business matters in a timely manner. Even though it can seem so daunting and unfair, it’s a part of the process.
Set a goal of doing just one thing. Or even two things in a day. Don’t put added pressure on yourself. Move at your own pace because it’s your grief and your process. There is no right or wrong as to how long something should take you to do.
You should also know when to seek help. Whether it’s outside counseling, a coach, or even surrounding yourself with family and friends. You can ease the emotional burden when you stop trying to do it alone.
I’ve been there and I’m here for you now. I lost my father and my brother within the same week and the grief seemed unbearable in that moment. I want to help you move forward in your grief process with an understanding heart. Feel free to reach out and let’s talk.
